Congressman Steve Scalise says a vote in the House on a measure to avoid drastic flood insurance rate hikes could come in the next week and a half.
Previously, House Speaker John Boehner said the House would not have a vote on the issue, after the Senate passed a bill that would delay the hikes for four years.
Scalise told WRNO's Denny Schaffer that a coalition in the House has worked on Boehner since that statement, and majority leader Eric Cantor recently told the Louisiana representative the measure would be brought to the House floor.
Right now, final details of the bill are being hammered out. Hear more about the ideas being discussed for the House version of this bill below.
