The Crimestoppers reward in a triple shooting that claimed the life of an 11-year-old girl is now up to $12,500, thanks to some private donations.
Arabian Gayles was shot and killed while sitting in a house on General Ogden Street September 3. Her 11-year-old female cousin and a man who was sitting on the porch were wounded. Shots were fired from outside the house by a couple of gunmen.
Crimestoppers President/CEO Darlene Cusanza said Thursday her organization has received more than a dozen tips in the case, but they still need more information.
"We know that there is some information. We've gotten some good information from people. And I know they're extremely fearful, but this is the time to come forward. This is an innocent baby. We need to take action. We need to send a message with our action," Cusanza said.
The Crimestoppers number is 504-822-1111.
